| Volunteer and make a difference!
Hospice at Home Volunteers is a registered charity that provides volunteer support to clients suffering from life limiting illnesses.
Hospice at Home Volunteers Huntingdonshire has been operating in Huntingdonshire for 3 years. To date (Oct 2006) we have made a difference to the lives of 186 clients and our volunteers have given 2000 hours of their time supporting them. In order to continue our vital work we need more volunteers.
We are currently looking for volunteers in the St. Neots and local area.
Our volunteers visit the clients at home, befriend them, listen and give practical support.
The support the volunteers provide will depend on the individual needs but may include such things as:
· sitting with a client enabling the carer to go out and have a break
· taking the client out on a trip to the shops or a favourite venue e.g. a garden centre is very popular.
· information and signposting
Our volunteers visit their clients once a week or once a fortnight depending on the time they have available.
If you are interested in volunteering or would like to discuss the role of the volunteer in more detail please contact Beatrice on the number below.
